2015 EASTERN DISTRICT OF TEXAS BAR CONFERENCE FEATURES MOCK TRIAL

The final day of the 2015 Eastern District of Texas Bar Association Bar Conference was the setting for the mock trial of a wrongful death action brought by the Estate of Tom McLaury against legendary lawman of the Old West, Wyatt Earp.  The case arose from fatal shooting of Mr. McLaury at the "Gunfight at the OK Corral" in Tombstone, Arizona Territory in October 1881.  

Andy Tindel of the MT² Law Group defended Marshall Earp (who was played by Wyatt Earp, an ancestor of the "real" Wyatt Earp) along with Jennifer Doan of the Haltom & Doan Law Firm. The Estate was represented by Michael Lynn of Lynn, Tillotson, Pinker & Cox and Leon Carter of Carter Scholer Arnett Hamada & Mockler.  The defense team is pleased to report that the verdict did not result in Marshall Earp having to pay a nickel to the plaintiff.
